5 Easy, Peasy Salsa Recipes

Salsa RecipesSalsa is one of those foods that you hear about and think, “that sounds a bit too complicated for me”. Am I right?

Well if that is your thought process then my friends, you are missing out on something so easy to make and something that its results outweigh the effort put in to make it, by several factors of mathematics I don’t understand.

Basically what I am saying here, is that salsa is a wonderful accompaniment to most foods and they are really surprisingly easy to make.

In this post, The Kitchen Guy will give you 5 Delicious salsa recipes that should take no more than 15 minutes or so to make.

So make sure your fridge is fully stocked, your pantry bursting with vivid vegetables, sumptuous sauces & heavenly herbs…and let’s begin 🙂

Original tasty tomato 

Tomato Salsa

You will need

  • Tomatoes...obviously 
  • Avocado
  • Olive oil
  • Lime


  • Roughly chop up 4 tomatoes.
  • Peel, core and roughly chop up your avocado.
  • Place into a nice bowl along with 1 tsp of olive oil and the juice of 1/2 a lime.
  • Stir well until mixed up – however make sure not to puree.
  • Great for grilled fish or chicken – anything grilled really.

Mango & fennel delight

Mango & fennel salsa

You will need

  • Fennel
  • Mango
  • Chilli
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Parsley
  • Mint
  • Lime
  • Salt & Pepper


  • Half & dice your mango, Trim & dice a fennel bulb, Deseed your chili and finely chop then add to a bowl.
  • Add into bowl 1 tbsp of balsamic vinegar, 2 tbsp of finely chopped parsley & 2 tbsp of finely chopped mint.
  • Add in the juice of 1 whole lime and stir.
  • Season with your salt & pepper to taste.
  • Ideal for grilled chicken – delicious.

Smokey BBQ Salsa

Smokey bbq salsa

You will need

  • Onions - normal & spring variety
  • BBQ sauce
  • Maple syrup
  • Cider vinegar
  • Brown sugar
  • Fresh pineapple


  • Place 3 oz (75 g) of finely chopped onions, 3/4 pint (150 ml) bbq sauce, 3 1/2 fl oz (100 ml) maple syrup, 1 tbsp cider vinegar, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 3 1/2 fl oz (100 ml) water, 1 tbsp lemon juice & a small amount of lemon zest to a pan and bring to the boil.
  • Leave for 10 – 15 minutes until a syrupy consistency.
  • Take off the heat and add in 6 finely chopped spring onions and 6 oz (175 g) of finely chopped pineapple.
  • Suitabel hot or cold and seriously amazing in burgers! 

Prawn and Avocado surf & turf salsa


You will need

  • 2 Large avocado
  • Cooked & peeled king prawns
  • 6 Spring onions
  • Coriander
  • 3 Limes
  • Olive oil


  • Place your roughly chopped avocados into a large bowl and add 12 oz cooked king prawns, finely chopped spring onions, 3 tbsp fresh coriander, the juice of your limes and their zest as well as 8 tbsp olive oil.
  • Stir well until mixed toughly.
  • Add in salt & pepper to taste.
  • Great for smoked salmon.

Avocado, tomato & coriander surprise


You will need

  • 1 Avocado
  • 1 Large red onion
  • 4 Large tomatoes
  • Coriander
  • 1 Lime
  • Salt & pepper


  • Place you diced red onion into a large mixing bowl along with your chopped avocado, all of your roughly chopped tomatoes and a small handful of chopped up coriander then sprinkle over the lime juice.
  • Mix well and season with salt & pepper to taste.
  • Should be used as soon as possible and great with grilled pork chops. Yummy.
